artist statement
everything is part of the great unfolding of our lives.
i write myself into existence, sometimes for the better, sometimes not.
i'm a white woman, born in Australia, living on Gadubanud/Gulidjan land with my daughter.
my aim is to write as honestly as possible and live with ease, attention, and care.
ari sharp is a white Australian artist whose practice centres around cultivating attunement to the complex relationships that shape being, and staying, alive.
sharp's work moves between performance, shared meals, artist books, video, photography, audio, and ritual encounters, acting as doorways into different ways of perceiving, being, and participating in the world.
drawing on phenomenology, feminist theory, and relational ontology, her practice resists detached observation, treating knowledge not as something possessed, but as something continually formed through relationship with others and the world.
